Hi, and welcome to my22.net.
The purpose of this site is to demonstrate, practice and improve my skills in HTML , CSS and Ruby on Rails.
I’ve already had some experience putting together sites using PHP , but after I became fascinated by the Ruby programming language and quickly bought myself a couple of books about Ruby on Rails.
Of course, just because this site is the result of me playing around with Ruby on Rails it doesn’t mean that it is totally without purpose. I’ll be putting up my own subset of Ruby/Rails documentation as well as lots of information about the tools I use, and the books I referenced to build this site.
Oh, and I enjoy movies and TV a lot. That’s why on the right side of the screen you can see a list of movies I’m planning to see and movies I’ve seen recently.
As this site progresses, more areas will be available. I already have built a solid content management system to set up the basic pages, but will be adding customised components like the movies section for other things. In particular, I’m looking to:
- List the DVDs that I own, and link them to the Movies System
- Add the ability to discuss movies
- Add the ability to post comments to pages
- Add RSS feeds where appropriate
